Research Interests

  • Physics of interaction of particles with electromagnetic fields, with emphasis on the interaction of an electron beam with high-frequency electromagnetic fields in microwave sources.
  • Development of mathematical models and numerical codes, aiming at the understanding of the physical mechanisms in the individual parts of microwave tubes.
  • Design, simulation, development, and experimental testing of gyrotrons.
  • Physics and technology of the electron cyclotron heating and current drive system in fusion reactors.
